Protect and Secure Your LinkedIn Company Page
If you’re a Super admin of a LinkedIn Company Page, there are some steps you should be taking to protect and secure it from scammers, bad actors, and other unscrupulous individuals.
Scammers, bad actors, and other unscrupulous individuals may attempt to use your Company Page to post fake/ghost jobs with the intention of scamming, defrauding, and/or harvesting personal/sensitive information from unsuspecting LinkedIn members.
First, protect and secure your personal/individual LinkedIn account by using strong passwords, changing passwords periodically, enabling two-factor authentication (2FA), and routinely monitoring your account for suspicious/unauthorized activity.
If your Company Page has less than 10,000 followers, you should be able to set the domains which are allowed to post jobs on your Company Page.
On your Company Page, this will be under Settings | Job posting | Domains for job posting access.
Add the domain name for your company / business / organization. Generally, this will restrict job posting access to individuals with a verified e-mail address associated with your company / business / organization domain name.
If your Company Page has more than 10,000 followers, you’ll need to contact LinkedIn Support.
Review/audit the list of admins for your Company Page. Instruct all admins to properly protect and secure their personal/individual LinkedIn accounts.
Remove any admins no longer associated with your company / business / organization and/or who don’t require job posting access. If you find unauthorized admins, remove them immediately and contact LinkedIn Support.
Review/audit any jobs posted to your Company Page to ensure those jobs are legitimate. If you find any unauthorized job postings, remove them and/or contact LinkedIn Support. Be sure to periodically review/audit your job postings to ensure your Company Page isn’t being used to post fake/ghost jobs.
Post advisories to alert potential job seekers to any unauthorized job postings and instruct them to avoid submitting resumes, personal/sensitive information associated with those postings as any information will likely be routed to an e-mail address setup by the scammers, bad actors, and/or unscrupulous individuals.
Be proactive, not reactive!
