Once you’ve joined and are signed into your Rakuten account, you can search for participating stores. Some stores offer cash back with in-store qualifying purchases, some are online only and some offer both in-store and online cash back offers and other savings and deals.

The cash back amounts vary by store but be on the lookout for double or triple cash back rewards and other special cash back offers throughout the year.

When shopping, be sure you’re using the link from Rakuten to the participating merchant online store as that is how they can track the purchases were made through a valid Rakuten referral link and issue earned cash back on qualifying purchases.

Rakuten also has browser extensions that work with compatible web browsers, so you don’t need to remember to go through the Rakuten referral links when shopping at participating merchant stores.

I’ve forgotten to go through Rakuten links a few times when making purchases at participating merchant stores (instead, going directly to the merchant’s online store) and missing out on earning cash back.
