A COZY SOLUTION TO A COMMON PROBLEM

If you have or ever had an Apple Micro USB to Lightning Adapter or Apple MagSafe to MagSafe 2 Converter, you know that these adapters are quite small, easy to lose and not exactly cheap to replace.

The Apple Micro USB to Lightning Adapter runs about $19.00 and the Apple MagSafe to MagSafe 2 Converter runs about $9.99. Even the Apple Pencil, which runs about $99.00, has a couple of small components including the cap, which protects the Lightning charging connector and the Lightning adapter, which allows you to connect the Apple Pencil to a Lightning charging cable.

Now I’m pretty good at not losing things; however, given the likelihood that one or more of these components could easily get lost, I really didn’t want to take the risk so I started searching for solutions. My search led me to a company called Cozy Industries (not a sponsor) that makes these silicone rubber straps which secure the Apple adapter or component to the associated cable or instrument.

For instance, the LightningCozy would have a slot to slide the Apple Micro USB to Lightning Adapter into. You would then loop the strap onto the Micro USB charging or sync cable which would keep the Apple Micro USB to Lightning Adapter tethered to the Micro USB cable. Regardless of whether or not the Apple Micro USB to Lightning Adapter was attached to the Micro USB cable, the adapter would remain safely tethered to the Micro USB cable.

The MagCozy for the MagSafe to MagSafe 2 Converter would work in a similar manner. The converter would fit into a slot on the MagCozy. The MagCozy would then be looped onto the MagSafe charging cable keeping the converter tethered to the cable at all times.

As for the Apple Pencil, you’ve probably guessed it . . . a PencilCozy. The PencilCozy comes in a combo pack with individual Cozy straps for both the cap and the Lightning adapter. There is even a PencilCozy combo pack which includes a cover for the Apple Pencil nib or tip. The cap would be tethered to the Apple Pencil while the Lightning adapter would be tethered to the Lightning charging cable.

The LightningCozy and MagCozy each start around $7.99 (retail) and the PencilCozy starts around $6.99 (retail). All three come in a variety of colors. I’ve used all three of these Cozy products for a couple of years now and I can tell you that I haven’t lost any of the small Apple components yet (knock on wood).
